Bridal Beauty FAQ
Everything you need to know about your wedding day glow.
Booking & Trials
How and when do I book?
To secure your date, I require a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit. Simply reach out via our inquiry form to check availability and start the process. Inquiries are booked on a first-come first-serve basis. My wedding calendar tends to fill up far in advance, so it is recommended to book as soon as you have your wedding date, especially for peak season,
When should I have my trial?
I recommend scheduling your trial 2-3 weeks before your wedding. This allows us to finalize your look when your skin is in similar condition, the environment is in season, and your vision is clear.
Do you travel on-site?
How do I prepare for my trial?
Yes! I provide on-site services. We bring the artisanal studio experience directly to your venue or location for a stress-free morning. I come prepared with a makeup chair, table, professional lighting, and mirrors. I am based in the Alexandria, MN area but will travel anywhere for wedding services. Travel fees for 56308 locations is $50, further travel fees is discussed during inquiry.
To make sure our time together during the trial is efficient, please come to your session with a clean, bare face, inspiration photos, knowledge of what current skincare products you are using, and any information I may need for the morning of your wedding. It is also beneficial to wear a white/light colored top with similar decollete exposure as your wedding dress.
Is there a minimum to book?
Do I need to know a headcount when booking?
Yes. In order to book BAKE Beauty's wedding makeup services, there is a 4-person minimum to book (1 Bride + 3 Bridesmaids/Attendants). Bridal makeup MUST be included in the headcount.
Not sure how many people in your bridal party will want makeup yet? That's totally okay! I recommend securing your date with the 4 person minimum to lock in your date. Services can be added- but must be finalized no later than 90 days prior to your wedding date.
Services & Scheduling
How many services can you do?
I am able to take on as many girls as your morning schedule allows with 50-minute blocks per person. If you require I start before 7am, I do require an additional $50 "early-bird" fee per hour prior.
Do you have additional MUA's?
I am a solo artist and do not work for a bridal agency. I am not responsible for coordination of extra MUA's if you have a large bridal party. I can give you recommendations of others that offer similar services but cannot guarantee availability.
How late can I add on makeup services?
If additional members of your party decide they want makeup services, they can be added to the schedule but no later than 90 days prior to the wedding date. The number of faces at that time will be contracted, non-refundable, and final.
What if someone who signed up for services decides they no longer want it?
Once your contract is signed for a specific number of faces, that number cannot be reduced and you will be responsible for the full number of services. This policy is in place because I have blocked off your day months to years in advance and often rearrange my personal life to accommodate the time needed. Subtracting services after booking would result in reduced income despite having committed the day to your wedding. You are welcome to substitute someone else (such as a friend, relative, or guest) for the unfilled services, but they cannot be removed from the contract, and no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
What if I need to cancel services?
If you need to cancel your wedding makeup contract, you must do so at least 6 months prior to your wedding date. If cancellation is made after that point, you are still responsible for paying the full remaining balance of your contract. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Is there a gratuity included in your pricing?
Gratuity is not included in pricing but greatly appreciated. I take great pride in my artistry, professionalism, and luxury experience I strive to provide. Adding gratuity reflects your appreciation for the time, talent, and care that goes into creating flawless glam.
Do you offer preview trials for non-brides?
If someone is your bridal party or MOB/MOG would like a preview of my work, I recommend booking a Special Event Makeup appointment as trials are reserved exclusively for the bride.
What forms of payment do you accept?
On-site services require cash or check payments since I do not bring a Point-of-Sale to run cards. With rules ever-changing with businesses using 3rd party payment processors like Venmo & PayPal I have chosen to opt-out of using that as a payment option.
Do you take photos for social media use?
As an artist, I rely on my portfolio to showcase my work, my talent, and attract future clients. Contracting a service with me, you allow the release of photos and videos used for social media and marketing purposes.
Makeup & Skin
What brands of product do you use?
I utilize a curated selection of professional, high-quality and performance brands I have carefully chosen through years of artistry experience. I carry a range of products to fit a vast variety of skin types, tones, and coverage levels to tailor a perfectly flawless, all-day wear look to your entire party.
Do you offer partial makeup services?
Makeup services are a set price, and if you would like to opt-out of certain steps (foundation, eyeshadow, etc.) it will still be the same price.
How do you keep products and tools sanitary between services?
Sanitation and cleanliness are top priority for me to ensure the safety and well-being of every client. All pressed eyeshadows and powders are sprayed with 70% alcohol before and after each use to kill bacteria and germs. All loose powders are depotted for use rather than used from directly from their container. Disposable applicators are used whenever possible including for mascara, eyeliner, and lips. Cream and liquid products are never applied directly from the container onto the face. Work surfaces and tools are disinfected before and after weddings and as needed during service to maintain a clean set up.
What if I have an active skin infection the day of ?
I am legally unable to perform a service on anyone with an active skin infection whether it is on the face or elsewhere on the body. It is out of my professional scope of practice. That includes but not limited to cold sores, impetigo, pink eye, inflamed sunburns, fungal infections, Staph infections and other communicable diseases. I reserve the right to decline service to anyone who presents with an active infection. The service can be transferred to someone else but must still be paid for.
Are strip lashes available?
I provide a wide variety of strip lash sizes and styles to ensure they seamlessly fit your eyes and desired look. Strip lashes are an additional $15.
Do you offer touch-ups?
After everyone has received glam, and if there is extra time, a maximum of 5 minutes per person can be allotted for touch ups (Extra setting spray, powder, lip touch up). This does not include anyone who did not receive glam by me.
What if I have a known allergy/sensitivity to certain makeup or skincare products/ingredients?
If anyone has an allergy or sensitivity, it is crucial to disclose it to me prior to the wedding date so I can identify and separate any products that may cause a reaction. I take every precaution to ensure your safety by using suitable products for your skin. However, if an allergic reaction occurs and the allergy was not disclosed prior to the service, I cannot be held responsible or liable. If you have severe allergies or sensitivities, I highly recommend scheduling a special event glam session in advance to test products and ensure your skin's comfort on the wedding day.
What if I had a recent facial procedure or am under the care of a Derm/Specialist?
Please make sure you are cleared by your provider to receive makeup services if you have had a recent treatment or procedure on or near the face area so there is no risk of adverse reactions. This includes facial surgeries or aggressive treatments done at a medical facility or med spa. Other treatments include lasers, botox, fillers, chemical peels, eye surgeries, and cancer treatments. You must disclose if you are using any prescription creams or oral medication for your skin.
Are you ready to glam?
Please make sure you have reviewed pricing, booking minimums, FAQ information, and have looked at my social media & website galleries to get a feel for my style and previous work before inquiring. It would be helpful to also send a link to this information to your bridal party as well, so they are also aware & informed.
For all inquiries, please fill out the form in as much detail and as accurately as you can. Errors in spelling, date, or missing information will lead to delays in securing your makeup service. This will help me create a personalized contract and accurate pricing.
Weddings are not booked and secured without a signed contract and 50% deposit. Once I have confirmed availability, a personalized quote and contract will be sent and remains valid for 48 hours. After that window has passed, the date is back open on a first come, first serve basis.
Thank you for wanting me to be a part of such a special day, it is truly an honor. I look forward to talking more soon!
